At 22:00 on July 16, 2025, Phillips' "Modern and Contemporary Art" auction was held as scheduled in New York.The 120 lots in this auction had a total transaction value of US$2.8659 million and a total transaction rate of 78%, of which 32% of the lots were sold above the estimated price and 20% of the lots were sold within the estimated price.Helen Frankenthaler's "Untitled" was sold for $228,600, becoming the highest-priced painting in the auction.

Many artists including Xu Hexi, Harold Stevenson, and Freya Douglas Morris set new personal records;
Kent Monkman, Ilya Bolotovsky, Cha Lovelace, Ukulji Napanjati, Taber, Cindy Phoenix, Helen Johnson, Pat Phillips and many other artists set new second-highest prices for artists;
Many artists, including Saito Kikuo, Soumya Netrabil, J⸱J⸱Manfred, and Algarvan Khosravi, set new records for the third highest price for an artist;
TOP1 of this transaction:

Helen Frankenthaler's "Untitled" was sold for $180,000, plus commission of $228,600.

TOP2 of this transaction:

Richard Prince's "Song: 2120 South Michigan Avenue" was sold for $170,000, plus commission of $215,900.

TOP3 transactions in this session:

Robert Motherwell's The Irish Question was sold for $140,000, plus $177,800 in commission.
