Shixiang Space announced that August 18, 2023 will host the solo exhibition of Ms. Sun Jing, a bachelor of the State University of New York and a master of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. The title of the exhibition is "Voyage·Return", with Yu Fei as the curator, exhibiting more than 40 pieces of Sun Jing's creations in recent years. The exhibition will run until September 10th.

Reading Sun Jing’s works, the most surprising and thought-provoking thing is that after she has almost read the history of Eastern and Western art, traveled all over the art museums in various countries, and communicated with many important contemporary artists, she completely Unaffected by artistic trends, he uses the most original, pure, pure self-expression like a child.

For her, painting is like wearing beads, accompanying children, and writing diaries. When artistic creation is separated from the competition mechanism of the art system, there is the right to choose the way of expression, and it is precisely because of this that there is such a sincere, free, pure and simple appearance of the work.

At the same time, the exhibition will also display nearly sixty The works of this literature cover the history of Chinese contemporary art, Western art history and theoretical criticism, including the first Chinese contemporary art history "Chinese Contemporary Art History 1985-1986" (1991), "Chinese Extreme Art History" written by Gao Minglu Multi-ism" (2003), The Wall: Reshaping Chinese Contemporary Art (2005), "Yi Pai Lun" (2009), Total Modernity and Avant-Garde in Twentieth Century Chinese Art (2011), "Concepts of Western Art History: Reshaping and Art History Turn" (2016) and so on.

At the opening ceremony of "A Long Journey·Return - Sun Jing Works Exhibition", piano Performer and professor of the Central Conservatory of Music Huang Yameng and students Liao Mengjia and Ma Tiankun will bring guests a magnificent mini-concert and start the audio-visual journey of "Shixiang Art·Music Night".

About Sun Jing

Sun Jing was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Bachelor of State University of New York, Master of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. In June 2019, he held a solo exhibition "Footsteps: Jingjing's Paintings 2019" at the China Millennium Monument.

About Gao Minglu

Master of China Academy of Arts, Ph.D. of Harvard University. Engaged in contemporary art criticism, curation and art history research for more than 40 years. He has actively promoted Chinese contemporary art and planned many important exhibitions, including the first national-scale contemporary art exhibition - "China Modern Art Exhibition" (1989, Beijing), and "Inside Out: New Chinese Art", the first comprehensive display of Chinese contemporary art in the West Exhibition (1998, New York), "The Wall (Wall)" exhibition (2005, Beijing, New York), "Yipai" exhibition (2008-2009, Beijing-Spain), etc. Published many monographs on Chinese contemporary art history, Western art history and theoretical criticism, including presiding over the writing of the first Chinese contemporary art history "Chinese Contemporary Art History 1985-1986" (1991), "Chinese Maximalism" ( 2003), The Wall: Reshaping Chinese  Contemporary Art (2005), Yi Pai Lun (2009), Total Modernity and Avant-Garde in Twentieth Century Chinese Art (2011), Concepts of Western Art History: Reproduction and Art History Turning" (2016), "Chinese Contemporary Art History" (2021), etc., and more than 20 other works. In the past 20 years, he has been teaching and researching between China and the United States. He has successively served as a professor of art history at the State University of New York and the University of Pittsburgh.

About Huang Yameng

Pianist, professor of Central Conservatory of Music, doctoral supervisor. Huang Yameng was born in an artistic family in Kunming, China, and started learning piano at the age of five. From 1983 to 1998, she was taught by Professors Li Qifang, Pan Yiming and Fan Jianqin at the Central Conservatory of Music. From 2003 to 2006, as a scholarship recipient of the German International Exchange Center, she went to the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, Germany, to study with Professor Klaus Baessler. Huang Yameng has published many albums, and his representative works include: Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 111; Schumann Fantasia; Brahms Piano Sonata No. 3; Liszt Sonata in B Minor; Beethoven "Diaberry" Variations, etc. wait. In 2022, the complete works of Beethoven's cello and piano sonatas in cooperation with cellist Professor Ma Wen will be published.
