Rocks And Clouds of Zhou Chunya

This work should be majestic and heavy, with the upper half of the smoke and clouds from a far, the rocks below are solid and tightly lined up, with proper density. In Rocks And Clouds, green and red are integrated into a large area of gray tones. Although there is no strong color, it increases the momentum of the work, with a magnificent visual effect.

Standing tt of Zhou Chunya

Standing tt shows the collision between the implicit oriental art and the passion of Western art in Zhou Chunya's paintings. The work have found a point of convergence between Chinese and Western aesthetics. Different from the exaggerated style of the early Green Dog series, Standing tt is more realistic. On the huge white canvas, tt stands sideways, with a sculptural three-dimensional effect. This is the only standing tt in the same group of works, that is more dynamic with the wildness of a wolf.

Tiger of Zeng Fanzhi

Tiger is among the works of recent years, the best example of Zeng Fanzhi's continuous innovation and exploration of painting. The 4 x 4 square meter scale of Tiger belongs to a special category in his works. Beginning in 2012, the artist has created a small number of paintings in this square pattern, through nearly ten years, he formed a system of its own. What they have in common is that they are huge in size, magnified in shape, focused on facial close-ups, with round shape in square. Tiger is the first work in this category that appeared on the auction market and has never been exposed to public before.

Black Rose Of Memory Or Dance of Mao Yan

Mountains, valleys, clouds and mist are intertwined in the painting, transitioning from both sides to the center and finally integrated into the white fog that is the most intense conflict in the picture. Different from the fullness of Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism in the painting, Zao Wou-Ki continued to deliberate blanking of Song and Yuan landscapes in the painting.

Early Spring in the Sonth of Wu Guanzhong

In a world that should have been snow-white, Wu Guanzhong presents a gorgeous gray with different tones and brightness.

In addition to using the photo transfer technique since 1992, it also shows his anti-commercial perspective. Rauschenberg used the method of color transfer to collage the color printed photos on a multi-layer cardboard, juxtaposing the square images of the photo and the white negative space on the screen, forming a side-by-side narrative that shows the daily life of cities, suburbs and the countryside in US.

Piazza D’italia - Pomeriggio D’estate of Giorgio De Chirico
