Auction Preview | Global Art Auctions in October Kick Off Soon, Auction Calendar Overview
After fierce competition of the global auctions in the first half of 2020, each auction houses performed differently with many high priced sales. As we are looking back at the intensive bidding from the past, the global auctions in next half of year are kicking off soon. Next, we will focusing on the schedule of the global auction season in October.
Location I: Hong Kong
Sotheby and Christie are going to raise the gavel in October. With "Modern Art Evening Sale" and "Contemporary Art Evening Sale" by Sotheby that include many classic works of Wu Guanzhong, San Yu, David Hockney, Gerhard Richter and Zhang Xiaogang. Christie is also going to present "Asian 20th Century And Contemporary Art" with works by Ju Ming, Zeng Fanzhi, and Yayoi Kusama etc.
Location II: New York
The auctions in October will begin soon at New York, with "Contemporary Curated" at Sotheby and "20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale" at Christie in October 2nd and 6th. In this October auction season, they are going to show master pieces of Basquiat, Cézanne and Pollock.
Location III: London
Auctions in London are going to raise the gavel in October. Bonhams will present "Impressionist and Modern Art Sale" and "Post-War & Contemporary Art" in October 15th and 22th. Another two important evening auctions: "20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale"at Phillips and "Post-war & Contemporary Art Evening Sale” at Christie will be up in October 20th and 22th.
Location IV: Beijing
Auctions in Mainland China are also opening in October. Holly's International is going present "Modern & Contemporary Art Day Auction and Evening sale". "Modern and Contemporary Art" auction will be kicking off by Beijing Poly during this time as well. This two auctions will include pieces by artists like Zhang Daqian, San Yu, Zhou Chunya and Andy Warhol.
Location V: Other Cities
Zhong Cheng Taipei is going to open “Morden And Contemporary Art” auction in October 4th with works of Kaws, Yoshitomo Nara and other famous artists. And Christies is going to raise the gavel in Paris later October.
