On May 24, 2021, Christie's "Evening Auction of 20th and 21st Century Art" opened. Adrian Gagney Collector I was valued at HK $45 million to HK $65 million, and finally sold for HK $65.97 million. Client 1778 won the bidding. And the art piece became the second-highest price for artists and the most expensive record for artists in Asia. Accomplished in 2008, the artwork is huge in size. Gagney scrapes the paint out of marble texture to make the picture into extremely smooth color blocks, and the figures in the painting are lifelike. Another "self-portrait" also achieved HK $9.25 million.

• Gagney’s personal auction record was created in October 2016. Diptych Nickelodeon was auctioned in 2016 in Christie's London, which was estimated at £1-1.5 million, and finally sold for £7.1 million, or $ 8.77 million.
