The 2021 Spring Auction | Huayi International Guangzhou’s five auctions closed at 263 million RMB on March 31st
From March 30 to April 1, 2020, the 2021 spring auction of Huayi International (Guangzhou) officially opened. The special auction of The Essence of Precious Wine took the lead in the afternoon of the 30th, sounding the first mallet in the offline auction process of Huayi International in 2021. ArtPro co-broadcasted with Huayi International Guangzhou on March 31st, including 5 auctions, Modern And Contemporary Art, Modern Calligraphy and Painting, Non-material Ancient Calligraphy and Painting and Literati Study, Magnificent-Jewelry Jade, Trendy Art and Precious Watches and Clocks. A total of 263 million RMB was sold in five auctions on the 31st.
Among them, the special auction of Modern Calligraphy and Painting sold 142 million RMB, and Fu Baoshi's Red Classic——Shaoshan Guan Gong Bridge finally sold for 47.725 million RMB in fierce competition among collectors. In the Modern and Contemporary Art part, Yee Bon, Wang Jiyuan and Zhu Qizhan all set important auction records. Porcelain and Jade Handicrafts, Ancient Statues of Auspicious Gold, Maritime Silk Road, Jewelry and Jade, Trendy Art and Precious Watches and Clocks had all made good achievements.
Special Auction of Modern and Contemporary Art
The special auction of Modern and Contemporary Art showed 113 items, with a transaction rate of 74%, and a total of 50.62 million RMB was obtained, of which the remaining Suburban Vegetable Garden sold for 11270000 RMB, making it the top deal in this Auction.
The Top1 of the deal on the market
Yee Bon‘s Suburban Vegetable Garden, was estimated at 80-10 million RMB, and finally sold for 11.27 million RMB, setting a new auction record for the artist. Yee Bon has natural compassion for the working people, which forms a strong endogenous tenacity in his works. The Suburban Vegetable Garden in the suburbs, created in 1976, is a masterpiece of Yee Bon’s late creative career. This work takes a bird's-eye view of the vastness and vitality of farmland, and the fields on the plain extend from the foreground to the distance, in order to display the fertile and vast farmland.
The Top2 of the deal on the market
St. Jan Joel's Waterfall was sold for 4.6 million RMB, is the third runner-up in this transaction. It was created in 1934 and was a crucial work during Liu Haisu's second trip to Europe. The St. Jan Joel's Waterfall remained in France until the 1990s when it was discovered and purchased by the collectors of Taiwan at an auction house in London, England. The painting is well-preserved and the material is as good as new.
Tie the Top2 of the deal on the market
Chu Teh-Chun's Deformation was sold for 4.6 million RMB, tied for the second runner-up in this transaction. This piece, created in 2006, is Chu Teh-Chun's mature work in his later years, in which he can intuitively feel the quintessence he draws from Chinese and Western art. The lines of broad pen and fast pen reflect his insight into calligraphy, and the bold division of the picture full of light and dark rhythm reveals the strong Western-style color just like the choir, showing the poetic and emotional feelings that were felt by the painter in life and nature.

A total of 179 pieces were presented in the Modern Calligraphy and Painting special auction with a transaction rate of 80.4%, with a total of 142 million yuan of people. 58% of the works were sold within the valuation, and 22% of the works were sold at an ultra-high valuation. In the fierce competition among many collectors, Fu Baoshi's Red Classic——Shaoshan Guan Gong Bridge finally was sold for 47.725 million RMB, becoming the top deal in this auction.

Non-material Ancient Calligraphy and Painting and Literati Study
A total of 122lots were sold in the Non-material Ancient Calligraphy and Painting and Literati Study, with a transaction rate of 86.1%, a total of 33.48 million RMB. Nearly 56% of the lots were sold at a high valuation, and 31% of the lots were sold within the estimate.

Trendy Art and Precious Watches and Clocks
A total of 83 lots were sold at auction by Trendy Art and Precious Watches and Clocks, with a transaction rate of 71%, a profit of 4.01 million RMB. Eleven lots were sold for more than 100,000 US dollars. Patek Philippe SA 5146r became the champion of this auction with 747500 RMB, while Rolex Rose Golden Tonna and Rose Gold DD were sold for 333500 RMB and 322000 RMB, becoming Top2 and Top3.

Magnificent-Jewelry Jade
A total of 99 lots were presented in the Magnificent-Jewelry Jade special auction, of which 18.2% of the works were sold higher than the estimated price, with a total of 33.27 million RMB. The precious and rare natural green jadeite bead chain sold for 15.52 million yuan, becoming the Top1 of the transaction.
