Preface

We are honored to announce that Chen Yingzhou's solo exhibition will open on November 30th at the Beijing space of KeYi Gallery. This is Chen Yingzhou's second solo exhibition at KeYi Gallery, presenting 10 works by the artist from the past two years under the theme of "Fang", The exhibition will continue until December 31st.

The exhibition theme "Fang" comes from one of the works in this exhibition: in a dark room, a small raccoon bites a fox in the abdomen, and blood gushes out from the fox's wound, revealing its pained expression. Teeth and teeth, as powerful weapons in the animal kingdom, become important metaphors throughout the exhibition. The dark room is also a key clue in the exhibition, showing the contrast between the black and colorful worlds inside and outside the room through the private realm defined by the black graphic in the picture, in which the dramatic and mischievous plot reflects the complexity and multifaceted nature of human nature.

The artist continues to interpret the Internet news from his usual comic perspective, and uses the positive and negative space in the sculpture on the two clouds in his humorous painting language, as well as echoing the dialog elements in his first solo exhibition "Intracerebral asphyxia" in his work "Hades".
