可以画廊欣然宣布,合肥空间将于1月31日举办王瑶个展「在接受生活的暴击前先休息一下」。此次展览是王瑶与画廊的第二次个展合作,时隔两年多,她携二十余件新作回到可以画廊,延续其一贯温柔而幽默的视觉语言,画面轻松、可爱,却始终不回避真实的情绪。展期将持续至3月15日。

KeYi Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Wang Yao's solo exhibition, Let's take a break before life punches your stomach at its Hefei space on January 31. This marks the artist's second solo collaboration with the gallery. After an interval of over two years, Wang Yao returns to KeYi Gallery with over twenty new works, continuing her signature tender and humorous visual language. The paintings appear lighthearted and charming, yet never shy away from genuine emotion. The exhibition will remain on view through March 15.

在被效率、速度与结果不断推着向前的时代,生活更像是一连串无法被预告的“暴击”。压力并非来自某个具体事件,而是渗透在日常的生活细节中:工作、关系、时间、情绪,这些因素彼此叠加,却很难也很少真正被消化。展览标题“在接受生活的暴击前先休息一下”,想要传达是一种面对之前的必要停顿,哪怕只是短暂的松弛,都可能成为重新安放自身的方式,为被挤压的日常腾出一点甜度与呼吸感。

相较于第一次个展「LOVE IS LOVE/阿狗的爱」中对家庭氛围的关注,本次展览,王瑶的视野明显向外延展。除了家中成员之间的有爱日常互动,热爱外出、旅行与冒险的她,也尝试在行走中不断收集生活的碎片:法罗群岛的兔子、特内里费岛潜水后皮肤的微妙反应、徒步途中略带恶趣味的瞬间,甚至遛狗路上的偶然发现,都被收集起来,转化为一件件轻盈却充满情感的绘画。王瑶并不试图将它们扩大为多么宏大或者有影响性的叙事,而是选择停留在“刚刚好”的尺度里,在平常中捕捉那些稍纵即逝的感受,并将这份温度递给更多需要的人。

In an era continually driven forward by efficiency, speed, and results, life comes to feel like a series of unforeseen punches. Pressure does not arise from any single event; rather, it permeates the details of everyday existence—work, relationships, time, emotions—layering and compounding, yet rarely fully processed or released. The exhibition title, Let's take a break before life punches your stomach, gestures toward the necessity of a pause before confrontation. Even a brief moment of loosening may offer a way to re-place oneself, creating a small pocket of sweetness and breath within an otherwise compressed daily life.

Compared with her first solo exhibition, LOVE IS LOVE, which focused on the intimacy of familial atmosphere, Wang Yao's perspective in this exhibition expands outward. Beyond the affectionate routines shared among family members, her love of going out, traveling, and seeking adventure leads her to gather fragments encountered along the way: rabbits in the Faroe Islands, the subtle reactions of her skin after diving in Tenerife, slightly mischievous moments during a hike, or chance discoveries made while walking her dog. These collected impressions are translated into paintings that remain light in form yet rich in feeling. Rather than elevating these moments into grand or consequential narratives, Wang Yao chooses to remain at a scale that feels "just right." She captures fleeting sensations embedded in the ordinary, passing along their warmth to those who may need it most.

当被问及“生活中最重要的事情”时,王瑶的回答显得格外克制而诚恳:“我常常觉得,生活中真正重要的事情,发生得都很轻。它们不制造冲突,也不要求被理解,只是突然出现,然后停留在记忆里。”这种对“轻”的感知,正构成了她作品的内在力量。王瑶将自己对自由生活的掌控与感知自然融入绘画之中,这是一个具体而鲜活的人生状态——不完美,却自洽;不宏大,却真切。

在生活的重压尚未真正落下之前,或许我们都可以先停一停,休息一下。

When asked about "the most important things in life," Wang Yao responds with a rare restraint and sincerity: "I often feel that what truly matters in life happens very lightly. It does not provoke conflict, nor does it ask to be understood. It simply appears—suddenly—and lingers in memory." This sensitivity to lightness forms the quiet inner force of her work. Wang Yao folds her sense of autonomy in a free life and her attentiveness to nature into her painting, articulating a lived condition that is both specific and vivid—imperfect yet self-contained; unassuming, yet deeply felt.

Before the weight of life fully settles upon us, perhaps we might allow ourselves to pause—to rest, if only briefly.
