Auction introduction: This season, Christie’s Hong Kong 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale is proud to present seminal works by leading masters from modern and post-war eras to contemporary luminaries and emerging artists globally. The sale preview will be held from 25-28 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Sanyu’s seminal masterpiece Femme nue sur un tapis (Nude on Tapestry) leads the evening sale. Meanwhile, A FLOWER by Yayoi Kusama joins Bad Barber by Yoshitomo Nara in reinvigorating painting traditions, and Camp Nurse by Richard Prince converse with Reclining Blue Form by George Condo with each of their unique rendition of figures. Other highlights include Red No. 2 by Liu Ye, Bloodline: Big Family No. 8 by Zhang Xiaogang, and Fleurs (Flowers) by Zao Wou-Ki. The sale will also feature important works by period-defining Western masters such as Wassily Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, and Keith Haring.
