Auction introduction: Christie’s is proud to present the Post-War to Present auction on 27 June, the premier platform for today’s most exciting artistic voices and celebrated figures of the Post-War period. Lead by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, the auction highlights new perspectives on figuration from artists including Scott Kahn, Dana Schutz and Miriam Cahn. Post-War to Present also features dynamic abstract works by leading international painters such as Günther Förg, Daniel Richter and Jade Fadojutimi. Works by such artists as Daisy Pariss, Clementine Keith-Roach and Alia Ahmad represent some of the freshest names in contemporary art. The auction showcases a diversity of media, with works from street art innovators Bansky and Invader, the NFT Bright Moments 2021 – 2024 Complete Works and important sculptures by Anish Kapoor, Louise Bourgeois, Isa Genzken and Antony Gormley. This season, Christie’s is also delighted to collaborate with Studio Voltaire to auction a group of works in Post-War to Present, to raise funds for this landmark non-profit organisation’s artistic and community programmes. Artist-donated works by Andrew Cranston, Pam Evelyn, Judith Hopf, Florian Krewer, Sophia Loeb and Paulina Olowska celebrate Studio Voltaire’s milestone 30th anniversary and its ongoing dedication to championing both emerging and established artists. Continuing on their success in previous seasons in New York and London, the auction also presents further works from the pioneering Rosa de la Cruz Collection and Mettere al mondo il mondo: A Collecting Journey in the World of Alighiero Boetti, an exceptional single-owner grouping of works by the late Italian artist. Leading a vibrant summer auction season in London, the Post-War to Present sale surveys the best and brightest of 20th and 21st century art, extending ample opportunities for every type of collector.
