The sale offers exemplary works by Robert Adams, Lee Friedlander, Peter Hujar, Diane Arbus, Louise Lawler, Irving Penn, Carrie Mae Weems, Robert Mapplethorpe, Edward Weston, and many more. The auction will also feature photographs from several important private collections, including a continuation of the sale series Property from The Collection of Chara Schreyer, which offers insight into decades of passionate collecting and patronage. Effective May 20th, 2024, Sotheby's has lowered its Buyer's Premium rates and removed Overhead Premium for all categories excluding Wine & Spirits.
