Auction introduction: This November, Sotheby’s Chinese Art auction in London features over 170 lots of Ming and Qing porcelains, early ceramics, jades and more. Leading this sale is an exceptionally rare and magnificent pair of wucai 'fish' jars and covers from the Jiajing period, an outstanding blue and white barbed dish from the Yongle period, a massive ‘huanghuali’ dragon cabinet from the 17th century and a pair of Qianlong blue and white meiping from a Dutch private collection. The sale also features a fantastic group of Qing Porcelains from the Hohler Collection, scholars works of art from the collection of Ulrich Hausmann, jades from the collection of Tom Hall, modern Chinese paintings from the collection of George Walden, and an album of woodblock prints gifted by Mao Zedong to Dame Isobel Cripps, President of British United Aid to China, on her visit to Yan'an in 1946.
