Auction introduction: Sotheby’s is pleased to present The Yang Zhendong Selection: Premium Aged Chinese Baijiu this autumn. This exclusive offering highlights the remarkable expertise of Mr. Yang, a highly respected veteran in the realm of Chinese Baijiu. Curated Selection Mr. Yang has meticulously assembled a collection featuring 130 lots of Chinese Baijiu. The collection is notable not only for including renowned labels such as Moutai and Wuliangye, but also for introducing several classic and distinguished brands to the auction market for the first time. These debut appearances include Jian Nan Chun, FenJiu, DongJiu, Laojiu Tequ, Xifeng, Langjiu, and Gujing. Highlights The auction includes parcel quantities of over 200 bottles of "Metal Capsule" Moutai ranging from 1986 to 1996, with the highly coveted "1704" Precious Flying Fairy Moutai among them. Another highlight is the Wuliangye "Red Label ChangJiang Bridge" label, produced between 1977 and 1980. The collection also features the debut of the first-ever Wu Liang Ye Artist Collection bottle, of which only five have been made. Significance of the Auction This event takes place following last year’s reduction in duty on spirits.
