Auction introduction: As part of our landmark 20th/21st Century Art auction series, Christie’s is delighted to present the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale on 23 October. Following the success of our auctions in March, the sale will bring together paintings, works on paper and sculpture from across this dynamic period, showcasing the breadth and diversity of British and Irish art in the 20th and 21st centuries. Highlights include paintings by Alfred Wallis, Edward Burra, Sir Winston Churchill, Celia Paul and Euan Uglow, alongside sculpture by William Turnbull, Emily Young and Nic Fiddian-Green. The sale is also complemented by a group of ceramics by Lucie Rie and David Roberts.
