Auction introduction: Sotheby's Autumn 2021 Modern Art Day Sale will extend the strong lineup of artists from the Evening Sale, featuring splendid works by Asian, European, modern and post-war masters. The abstract art will be led by Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun, Pierre Soulages, Georges Mathieu, Hans Hartung, Fernando Zobel and Walasse Ting; the figurative paintings will be presented by masters such as Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita, Pang Jiun, Ai Xuan, Bernard Buffet, Mai Trung Thu, Affandi and André Brasilier. The auction also features the first iteration of an important single owner grouping - “Bridging Generations: Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum” - hailing from one of Southeast Asia’s pioneering private institutions.
