Auction introduction: The Epicurean’s Atlas: The Zenith
At the end of a year of dedicated auctions around the world, during which multiple records have been broken in Hong Kong, Paris, Beaune, and New York, we are delighted to be bringing The Epicurean’s Atlas back to Hong Kong this November, for The Zenith. Having begun our global odyssey showcasing Pierre Chen’s legendary cellar in this great wine-loving city, we now come full circle with The Zenith’s tightly focused presentation of just under 300 lots, showcasing some of the finest and rarest gems from this special collection.
On Saturday 30 November in our new flagship Chater House Maison, we will present a live auction comprising a selective group of Europe’s greatest and rarest wines. From Champagne, we are met with examples of the very best vintages of Dom Pérignon across all of their different releases going back into the 1970s and 1960s, before embarking on a similar journey through extraordinary back-vintages of Krug’s Vintage, Collection, Clos du Mesnil and Clos d’Ambonnay. Not to be left out, exceptional Champagnes are also found in the guise of large formats from Salon and Cristal, and Bollinger’s rare Vieilles Vignes Françaises.
Perhaps more so than any other region, Burgundy sits at the heart of Pierre Chen’s appreciation and passion for wine. Here, the most renowned wines are all represented, with stunning back-vintages from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti leading the charge, closely followed by superb lots from domaines Leroy, d’Auvenay, Jayer, Rousseau, Dujac, Coche-Dury and many more.
