Auction introduction: Sotheby’s London is delighted to announce the creation of our biannual Old Master Prints sale. Following the success of our inaugural auction dedicated to Old Master prints in December 2020, we are thrilled to debut our summer auction, open for bidding 30th June – 9th July. This diverse sale surveys the advent of Western printmaking, from Early Renaissance metalcuts to an experimental proof by Goya. Highlights include iconic subjects such as Dürer’s The Sea Monster, and a selection of Rembrandt’s dynamic self-portraits.
