Auction introduction: In 1995, Mr. Chen of Alan Chen’s Fine Arts discovered a seal inscribed with the four characters "納古容今 (integrating the ancient with the present)" at an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings held at the Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. These four characters resonate perfectly with Mr. Chen's philosophy on collecting—embracing diverse forms of art and integrating them into contemporary life, thereby allowing ancient treasures to be revitalized in modern times. Mr. Chen was inspired by the connotations of elegance and generosity expressed in the phrase "有容,德乃大 (with magnanimity comes great virtue)." Incorporating the essence of the phrase into the name of his gallery, Alan Chen’s Fine Arts was established. Mr. Chen embraces the philosophy of “art for living, living for art” in his collection approach, integrating cultural relics with modern life and artworks with living spaces. He is dedicated to promoting the concept of “art in everyday life.” Drawing on his expertise in ancient artifacts, Mr. Chen aims to create a platform for appreciating art and fostering its exchange. By curating specific themes, he encourages collectors and connoisseurs to share their works, thus bringing life and art closer together.
