French painter, born in Limoges, Haute-Vienne. Renoir began to study art under Charles Gleyre and is one of the leading figures of the Impressionism. He has a deep research on Rubens and French 18th century painting, and famous for his oil paintings of figures. Renoir also created sculpture and printmaking. His paintings of sweet, plump, and bright faces and hands are the most classic that often filled with a gentle and poetic atmosphere.
