Auction introduction: The Modern British & Irish Art Day Auction will feature works by classic names such as L. S. Lowry, Ben Nicholson, Henry Moore and Ivon Hitchens, alongside those by artists working today such as Grayson Perry and Callum Innes. We are also delighted to present A Life with Art: The Collection of Mollie and Graham Dark, which will precede the Day Sale. It will also feature a dedicated focus on Irish art, which will be exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin from 31 October–3 November. We are thrilled to present this sale during British & Irish Art Week at Sotheby's, from 9–14 November, when the building will be full of the best Modern British & Irish Art. Alongside our November Evening and Day Sales, we are also staging two innovative selling exhibitions, Radical Modernity: From Bloomsbury to Charleston, A Selling and Loan Exhibition in Collaboration with Charleston, and Poetic Structure: The Sculpture of Barbara Hepworth.
