Auction introduction: The mid-season sale of Old Master paintings includes superb examples from most major schools of Western European art (lots 301–457). Furthermore, it includes a 19th-century bronze sculpture by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (lot 458), and almost 100 portrait miniatures (lots 459–557), largely from the collection of a distinguished British private collector and the late Dr Erika Pohl-Ströher (1919–2016). With estimates ranging from a few hundred pounds to over £50,000, this is the perfect introduction to Old Masters for new buyers, and a fantastic opportunity for established buyers to expand their collections.
The sale is open for bidding from 23 - 28 April, and works will be available to view in our galleries from 24 - 28 April (subject to government guidelines).
