Jackson Pollock
American painter, born in Cody of Wyoming state. Pollock is the main force of the Abstract Expressionist movement who is famous for his original drip painting. He began to use the "drip painting method" in 1947 by laying a huge canvas on the ground, using a box drilled with small hole, stick or paintbrush to splash the paint on the canvas. He often draw lines and disordered web with repeated unconscious movements. He is one of the founders of American Abstract painting in 20th century. His works are regarded as a symbol of new American painting after World War II.
