Liu Jianhua
Liu Jianhua was born in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province in 1962. He currently lives and works in Shanghai, China. He uses comprehensive materials as the main medium and is a well-known Chinese sculpture and installation artist. After graduating from the sculpture department of the Fine Arts Department of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1989, he tried to conduct experimental creation in a contemporary background. Liu Jianhua's work is a reflection of the economic and social changes that have plagued China in recent years. His "Everyday and Fragile" series was first exhibited in the Chinese Pavilion at the 2003 Venice Biennale. Liu Jianhua copied everyday objects into mysterious objects whose appearance and symbolic significance are greater than practicality. In 2008, he put forward the concept of "meaninglessness and no content" to create, starting from the 2008 work "Untitled", in contrast to the previous direct attention to the problems and focus of globalization and the rapid transformation of Chinese society A new direction was explored, and a personal language system for contemporary art creation was formed.
