Born in Beijing, Cui Ruzhuo is a Chinese-American, a painter, connoisseur, and collector. He first learned Chinese calligraphy from his teacher Zheng Songxian, and has studied under Li Kuchan for paintings. He went to the United States in 1981 and settled in Beijing in 1996. He is currently the honorary president of the World Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Collectors Association, the vice chairman of the Chinese Celebrity Association and the dean of the Chinese Celebrity Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Chinese Art Doctoral supervisor of the Institute. His paintings are based on a wide range of materials, especially those with splash ink landscape, lotus, narcissus, ink bamboo, and roosters.
