Japanese artist, once studied at Tokyo University of the Arts. Takashi Murakami is the founder of the ultra-flat movement, a post-modern art style that focuses on otaku culture and lifestyle influenced by Japanese animation and manga. His works are a collection of cuteness, sexual fantasy and extreme violence, with a strong color of cartoons, but at the same time alluding to the connotation of Japanese culture. Through a series of commercial marketing, he has become one of the most popular and controversial Japanese artists in the world.
