Born in Lixian County of Hebei Province, Huang Zhou is a Chinese painter, social activist, collector, and one of the representatives of the Chang An School. He studied under Zhao Wangyun. He was the executive director of the China Artists Association, the vice president of the Chinese Painting Research Institute, and the curator of Beijing Yanhuang Art Museum. Huang Zhou is good at painting people and animals in Xinjiang, depicting the beauty of daily live and scenery. He has incorporated sketches into Chinese painting, opened up a new paradigm of figurative paintings and inks, and has expanded the artistic language of Chinese painting.
