Chinese modern flower-and-bird painter, from Hangzhou, Zhejiang, styled himself as "Xiachen" and another name: Medicine City. He specializes in flowers and birds also good at landscape and characters. He was inspired by Bada, Dongxin, and Xinluo on flower and bird paintings, and was inspired by the four schools of Yuan Dynasty for landscapes, also involved Shen Shitian in the Ming Dynasty. And the characteristics of Qing Dynasty of bold brushstrokes and carefully clean up. His works have integrate the thickness northern style and the lightness of the southern style, that are vivid and lively. He has learned calligraphy from Yan Zhenqing since childhood, followed by Han Li and Zhang Cao, and created a style of his own in late years.
