Edgar Degas
Born in Paris of France, an Impressionist painter and sculptor. Degas studied painting at École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was deeply influenced by Ingres. His innovative composition, meticulous depiction and thorough expression of movement made him one of the masters of modern art in late 19th century. His most famous subjects include ballerinas and other female figures, and horse racing. He works were considered as Impressionism, but some of them have of more Classicism, realism or Romanticism styles.
