Alberto Giacometti
Born in Bonnie Au, Switzerland, Giacometti moved to Paris in 1922 after studying at the Geneva Academy of Fine Arts. He is a super-existentialist sculptor, painter, sketcher, printmaker, and creator of the most expensive sculpture in the world. His early works were influenced by art styles such as Cubism and Surrealism, his sculptures that were made after World War II are the most famous. The ghostly, stretched and slim sculptures reflect the fear and loneliness that prevailed in people's minds after the Second World War.
