Xu Yang
Chinese Qing Dynasty court painter, a native of Suzhou province, styled himself as Yunting. When empire Qianlong traveled south to Suzhou in Hongli 16th year, Xu Yang presented him painting, and was collected by the court. Affected by Ai Qimeng and He Qingtai, their realistic skills benefit him deeply. He is good at painting characters, Jie Hua, flowers and birds, grass and insects. His paintings plums are both vigorous and elegant. The works inherits the art form of Along the River During the Qingming Festival and so on. They depict the landscape of city with scattered perspective, and applies the realistic technique to the painting, with exquisite brushstrokes and great magnificence.
