Japanese painter and sculptor, born in Shimane Prefecture, graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Musashano University of Fine Arts in 1992, now lives and works in Tokyo and Hong Kong. He often creates works in the form of human beings, and infuses them with vatality by hand. His works always have a touch of ghosts and primitive tribes. Izumi Kato likes to use different materials, many of his works are made from a variety of medium. His creation style is consistent, with big eyes and humanoid state, which is highly recognizable.
